The wellness programs that Jan has developed and implemented for our company have greatly benefited both employees and their families. These wellness initiatives have resulted in a greater focus on employee health in a fun and motivational way and have even improved morale by causing employees to work together on their goals. Jan brings a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to these programs and is a wonderful source of inspiration to the program participants. Jan has a true passion for wellness and, as a result, her enthusiasm is contagious.


Due to the rising cost of healthcare and the healthcare issues that our nation is facing, these programs have been both timely and relevant. Jan believes, as I do, that wellness will be key in addressing and resolving a significant portion of our nation's health problems before they become too costly.


In summary, the wellness initiatives that Jan has provided our company have been both motivational and extremely successful. The employees have been challenged in three key areas, which include nutritional and healthy eating, exercise and weight loss. Employees have truly enjoyed these programs and many have requested that Jan implement additional initiatives.

Through the wellness initiatives at our company, Jan Hawkins has taught us how to eat healthier and become more active. We've participated in fun contests to eat more fruits and vegetables each day, exercise several times a week, and lose weight in a healthy manner. From Jan's helpful tools to measure serving portions, to interesting tips on making small changes to get big results, the "Health Wellness & You" initiative has been a huge help! My family now makes better choices in the foods we eat at home and take to work. We feel better, have more energy and have fun shopping for a greater variety of fresh foods to make our meals more colorful and healthy. This has taught us to make lifestyle changes, which will mean better health and nutrition for my whole family for the long-term!

When I started my job I couldn't imagine that my new employer would help me with weight loss. Within a few months, Jan started a wellness program for all employees and I signed up! The first endeavor was a weight loss initiative and since I was getting married in a few short months I figured it was a great opporunity to loose a few pounds for my big day. I stuck to the program that Jan had set out for us and steadily lost 7 of the 10 pounds I had vowed to lose. My energy level was rapidly increasing; I was making more positive choices in eating and activity. By participating in the Wellness Program my weight loss journey was jump started! I've now lost 42 pounds; run a mile a day (for the first time in my life!) and I have almost entirely discontinued my anti-depressant/anti-anxiety medication. My favorite part of the Wellness Program was the fun and positive competition between myself and my co-workers. It was fun to watch the charts each week to see how we were all doing. I look forward to more wellnes programs to assist me in learning more about nutrition and how I can improve my overall health AND help reduce some of my health care costs.
